Problem
The corporate objective is to migrate from Java based software to a sustainable, modernised, cloud-based architecture and to find a technology partner that can cover all the services required.
The second objective was to consolidate IT services to one sustainable supplier to be a long-term technology partner. Existing arrangements were with small organisations where the customer represented a large proportion of revenue and little resilience existed, presenting a high risk to service delivery and commercial arrangements.
Solution
We led the market appraisal which required a global spread and abilities in both ageing and evolving technologies.
An RFI was issued to appraise c.20 suppliers, the result of which provided a shortlist for the RFP process.
The RFP was a detailed appraisal of the service and scope whilst also including commercial considerations.
Result
A partner was selected who demonstrated an ability to scale, support the geographies and languages required as well as provide talent in the software identified.
The contract was developed to meet both the development and operations requirements of the client and a Supplier Relationship Management framework was initiated to enable communication and performance management.
We also delivered a 25% reduction in day rates through the supplier selection process.
